Is your public rights period compliant?

Thirty working days, and the period must include the first ten working days of July. Enter the day you intend the period to begin and this checks the end date, the July rule, and when the notice has to be published.

The date the notice says inspection begins. For a year ending 31 March, this is normally a date in June.

What the regulations require

Working days are Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays in England. Bank holidays for 2026 and 2027 are built in; check your notice against the published list for other years.
The notice must be published before the period begins and must state the dates. Publishing it the day before is lawful; publishing it the same day is not. Give yourself margin.
The conclusion of audit notice, and the AGAR sections, must then be published by 30 September and kept available for five years.
